Our Services

At Synergy Integrative Specialty Veterinary Clinic, we offer advanced, minimally invasive therapies tailored to your pet’s unique needs.

Our integrative approach combines regenerative medicine, pain management, and rehabilitation to restore mobility, reduce discomfort, and enhance overall wellness.

Physical Rehabilitation

Therapeutic Exercise with a dog in New Bern
Our physical rehabilitation services use non-surgical, non-pharmaceutical therapies to treat musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions, improving strength, mobility, and quality of life. Rehab benefits pets of all ages, from young animals with congenital issues to seniors with arthritis, as well as those recovering from surgery or injury. Each treatment plan is tailored to your pet’s unique needs and may include Therapeutic Exercise and Manual Therapy, Hydrotherapy, Therapeutic Modalities, Fitting for Assistive Devices, and more.

Digital Thermal Imaging

Digatherm Infrared Imaging

Digital Thermal Imaging is a non-invasive diagnostic tool that detects inflammation, poor circulation, and neural dysfunction with precision. By providing a visual map of problem areas, it eliminates guesswork, allowing for quicker diagnoses and targeted treatments. It’s especially valuable when combined with therapies like laser treatment, offering clear before-and-after visuals to track progress and optimize care.

Regenerative Medicine – Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP Therapy)

Regenerative Medicine helps an animal stay in motion

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP Therapy) uses your pet’s own blood to stimulate healing in damaged tissues, accelerating recovery from injuries like tendonitis, ligament tears, and osteoarthritis. Concentrated platelets, rich in growth factors, are injected into the affected area to enhance the body’s natural repair process. This minimally invasive treatment promotes faster, more effective healing with minimal risk and can significantly improve mobility within days.

Regenerative Medicine – Stem Cell Therapy

Stem-Cell-Processing-Laboratory in New Bern

Stem Cell Therapy offers a cutting-edge approach to treating soft tissue injuries and osteoarthritis in pets by repairing damaged tissues, reducing pain, and improving mobility. Using adult stem cells harvested from fat, bone marrow, or amniotic tissue, this regenerative treatment helps slow disease progression and can minimize the need for pain medications. Ideal for pets with arthritis, chronic joint issues, or those unsuitable for surgery, stem cell therapy enhances quality of life with minimal side effects.

Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM)

Veterinary Acupuncture
Dr. Joyce Gerardi offers Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) as a natural approach to animal health through Veterinary Acupuncture, Food Therapy, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Medical Massage (Tui-Na). These methods work together to restore balance, alleviate pain, and support overall wellness in pets, helping them live healthier, more comfortable lives.

Integrated Wellness Exams

Integrated Wellness Exams

Integrated Wellness Exams combine conventional veterinary medicine with complementary therapies to provide comprehensive care tailored to each pet’s unique needs. By working alongside your regular veterinarian, we create personalized treatment plans that may include diagnostics, medications, acupuncture, herbal medicine, food therapy, and medical massage to achieve the best possible outcomes with minimal side effects.

Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses light wave technology to stimulate cellular healing, reduce inflammation, and provide natural pain relief. It promotes tissue repair by boosting cell metabolism, releasing endorphins, and removing damaged tissue. This therapy effectively treats conditions like arthritis, muscle and tendon injuries, hip dysplasia, post-surgical trauma, and more, offering a pain-free solution that can reduce or eliminate the need for long-term medications.

Testimonials

Jessica and Baxter

Baxter was facing the possibility of paralysis and being on medication for the foreseeable future. Dr. Joyce offered us the opportunity to try acupuncture in conjunction with modern medicine in hopes that paralysis would not set in and medication would be temporary. Thanks to her Acupuncture treatments and Herbal Medicines Baxter no longer shows signs of impending paralysis and is no longer on any other medications. He’s back to his old self! I am forever grateful to Dr. Joyce and how she helped Baxter and will always be a supporter of Kindred-Canines In Motion (KIM).

Jeanne Crockett

Synergy Intergrative Veterinary Clinic is a gem for pet owners seeking non-traditional appoaches to pet care. Their holistic approach of acupuncuture, thermal imaging, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, has been a game-changer for my senior German Shepherd, Davy. Under Dr. Girardi's expert care, Davy is aging gracefully, and I couldn't be more grateful. I expect to see a pep in his step for years to come. Highly recommend.

Marley May

It was such a pleasure to get a text update on one of our favorite patient and clients. Marley is a 11 yr Female, 75 pound, Labrador Retriever suffering from severe spinal and hip arthritis and limited mobility. She was treated with a systemic and local treatment of an Allogenic Amniotic Allograft to treat her painful arthritis and limited mobility concerns.

Today we got some good news… “My sister came for a visit and the first thing she said when she walked in the door, "Marley looks so good and acts differently". She continued to say this multiple times during her stay!”
